Passport to the Internet, an interactive tutorial for Grades 4 to 8,
aims to teach students essential Internet literacy skills through
simulating environments that young people are likely to encounter online.
Each environment is designed to teach a cluster of Internet literacy skills,
such as managing online safety and privacy, researching and
authenticating online information, and managing online relationships.
Each student is asked to choose a visual character, or avatar,
to represent himself or herself within the tutorial.
As students successfully complete modules, their achievements are recorded
in an Internet Passport. (The Passport also serves to notify you,
via e-mail, that the modules have been completed.) Students may also choose to print the
completed Passport as a symbol of their achievement.
